RJ Wright began the fuel business in Newcomerstown, OH in 1969 under the SOHIO brand. We have remained family owned and operated throughout the years. Ben started working at RJ Wright & Sons when he graduated from high school in 1981. He & his brother, Rick, took over as owners of the company in the mid 90’s with their dad, RJ, remaining a part of daily operations. In the year 2000, RJ Wright & Sons bought a second bulk plant in New Philadelphia, OH to expand their business. Shortly after, the 3rd generation joined the company. Andy, the oldest son of Ben, started working at RJ Wright & Sons in 2004 & Ben’s youngest son, Whit, started in 2012. The company grew again in 2014 when we acquired the Richard Rutherford bulk plant in Caldwell, Ohio. We are continuing to grow as the 3rd generation of Wright’s takes over the day-to-day operations. Great customer service and family values have always been a big part of our business & will remain a priority to us as our business continues to grow.
